About CBD

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is one of 140 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBD is a legal and non-psychoactive component, which primarily affects the peripheral nervous as well as the immune system and does not cause a feeling of being stoned or high. However, CBD also has some unique effects, which is why we pay special attention to the CBD content when choosing hemp products. Generally speaking, we can say that CBD helps restore the balanced functioning of the endocannabinoid system. Among other things, CBD has a great impact on brain function (pain management, movement, emotions and sleep), and also helps with post-exercise muscle regeneration, general health improvement (anxiety, depression, psychological instability, nausea, diabetes, inflammation, etc.), prevention of epileptic seizures, alleviation of dermatological problems, elasticity and appearance of the skin, etc. The CBD content in a specific strain of hemp depends on the variety. As a rule, Cannabis Indica has a higher CBD content than Cannabis sativa.

The effect of CBD

CBD has no psychoactive effects, so it does not cause one to feel high or stoned. It does not have any other side effects on the user’s mental state. CBD may influence some physiological processes, since the CB1 and CB2 receptors help the functioning of the endocannabinoid system receptors. Also highlighted are possible therapeutic effects, especially antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, antiemetic, anxiolytic and antipsychotic effects. CBD can be beneficial for relieving inflammation and pain, destroying and inhibiting bacterial growth, lowering blood sugar levels, inhibiting cancer cell growth, calming and alleviating psychosis, alleviating anxiety and stress problems, acting on the immune system, relieving intestinal cramps, etc. Due to the limited research on the effects of CBD, much more of its potential remains undetected. In the future, we can expect many more positive effects of CBD to come to light. In some places, the use of CBD-active substances for medical purposes is already widespread, and its effects are being studied; cannabis products yielding such positive effects have become increasingly popular also among those who do not encounter cannabis in medical therapies and research.

CBD is not a Medicine

CBD is sometimes portrayed in various popular texts and other content as a universal solution to all possible physical and psychological problems. In fact, its effects have not been sufficiently confirmed and such allegations are misleading. The content on our website is for informational purposes only. CBD is not a medicine. Green Passion does not seek to portray it as a cure. We list the possible therapeutic effects and indicate the potential that medical research has yet to confirm. We do not list the medicinal effects and do not recommend hemp products to patients seeking medication.
